This solo dance piece by Maria Ghoumrassi discusses female identity and motherhood
A Tree Without Leaves began as a response to stories that come from Maria’s family.
This solo piece uses dance, drawing and singing to examine the meaning of womanhood in contemporary society. The title of this work-in-progress comes from a Chadian proverb ‘A tree without leaves is like a woman without children’.
