‘Take risk away, and what’s left?’
In a climate that thrives on box-ticking, risk-assessing and safeguarding, we desperately try to create a ‘safe’ environment. But have we stopped listening to the people we’re trying to protect?
Safe brings serious concerns to life with an authentic voice.
Audience feedback from our 2009 production
Safe follows a theatre company as they attempt to stage a play. An interruption by a Health & Safety Officer sets off a spiral into absurdity.
Safe is an exasperatingly funny satire from Eastenders writer Pete Lawson, and performed by the Spare Tyre Artists.
With a diverse cast of older people and people with learning disabilities, Safe is part of Spare Tyre’s 40th birthday celebrations.
